The Downriver Baseball Association coordinates summer fastpitch and hardball programs for approximately 1,500 youth, ages 9 to 18, in southern Wayne County. Founded in 1998 by local associations in Allen Park, Grosse Ile, Riverview, Southgate, Trenton and Wyandotte, membership has since extended to most local associations and recreation departments in the area. rules

The cornerstone of the DBA program is intercity play, providing venues for member associations and recreation departments with enrollments insufficient to effectively support single-city programs. The DBA's "cafeteria plan" allows election to participate in as many, or as few, of the DBA's softball or hardball divisions as may be necessary to meet the member association's unique needs.
The 2012 season is gearing up featuring 113 teams. Participating cities include Allen Park, Brownstown, Dearborn, Gibraltar, Grosse Ile, Riverview, Rockwood, South Rockwood, Trenton, Woodhaven and Wyandotte.
